Remember all the stuff we had you do under idea generation? Now you get to use it.
At this point, you should have:
- A set of terms that are important to the research question you
want to answer and their definitions.
- A set of goals and objectives.
You should now be ready to:
- Decide which literature search tools you are going to use.
- Compare your terms to the terms used in each search tool you
plan to use (e.g., thesaurus for electronic indexes and print indexes, glossaries for
textbooks).
- Refine your terms based on the comparison (but do not discard them - they may yet be
useful).
- Review your goals and objectives.
- Decide on a preliminary literature search strategy.
