Visiting Students

General Information

T hank you for your interest in the University of Oklahoma. We welcome visiting students interested in Family Medicine. This page is designed to help you navigate an unfamiliar system. If you have questions at any time, please feel free to contact the Department of Family Medicine.

All applications must reach the department via the OUHSC Dean's office. The phone number is (405) 271-2265, and the website is www.medicine.ouhsc.edu .

Applications are accepted beginning June 15 of each year. Please note our academic year begins in July and uses a four-week block schedule. Unfortunately, the University is unable to accommodate any visiting student for more than eight weeks of study per academic year. You may view a copy of the Senior Electives Bulletin by visiting the College of Medicine website at www.medicine.ouhsc.edu/cstt.cfm and look under Course Offerings. Also, you may contact the Department of Family Medicine directly to identify specific course offerings in our department. Your point of contact is Bev Finley , Residency Coordinator, at (405) 271-2230, or Dr. Rhonda Sparks , clerkship coordinator. Please view the Clerkship Opportunity page for more details.

Listed below are the College of Medicine requirements for your application. You may send your application to the Department of Family Medicine to be forwarded, or send it directly to the Dean's office. Please note that the University of Oklahoma does not provide liability insurance for visiting students.·
