Dewey Scheid, MD, MPH Profile: I am a family physician currently working as an Associate Professor in the Clinical Sciences Division of the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. I arrived at the University of Oklahoma in September, 1995. My areas of interest include medical decision making and medical informatics. I was previously employed (1/89-5/93) as an academic family physician acting as a Clinical Associate Director and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the West Side Family Practice Center, a community based Family Medicine residency program sponsored by Akron General Medical Center and affiliated with Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. |
| My public health experience includes 3 years in the U.S. Public Health Service in the Indian Health Service stationed in Bethel, Alaska. I was born in Sandusky, Ohio on December 17, 1955. Sandusky is a city with a population of 30,000 people on the southern shore of Lake Erie, approximately 60 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio. I lived there until 1974. My wife, Pamela, also from Sandusky, is a Yoga Instructor and a Registered Nurse. We have two children: Kyler (DOB 1985) and Mira (DOB 1990). | |
