Informing Patients about Cervical Cancer ScreeningResearchers in the CDM Program are studying peoples knowledge and attitudes about high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) as part of a project funded by the Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Focus groups are being held with African American, Caucasian, and American Indian men and women aged 18-64. Qualitative findings from these discussions will fuel the development of quantitative, computerized instruments for use in the next phase of research. During that phase interviews will be conducted with 400 women, half of whom will have had a previous diagnosis of HR-HPV. For more information on the project, contact the principal investigator Robert M. Hamm, Ph.D. at robert-hamm@oushc.edu. |
