Informing Patients about Prostate Cancer ScreeningResearchers in the CDM Program are studying men's understanding of prostate cancer screening in order to communicate its advantages and disadvantages. A project funded by the Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ATPM/CDC Cooperative Agreement) has designed materials for informing men about the advantages and disadvantages of prostate cancer screening in a balanced way. A study to evaluate this has been done, with data collection complete in Oklahoma City and continuing in Houston. For more information on the project, contact the principal investigator Robert M. Hamm, Ph.D. at robert-hamm@oushc.edu. |
