Bayesian approaches
- The sensitivity and specificity of each test would differ, according to the result of the other test.
- Fryback, 1974: Argued that assuming independence is good enough - better than not using Bayes’ Theorem at all.
- Schum, 1987: Demonstrated an approach for adjusting for redundancy in confirmatory evidence and contradictions in conflicting evidence. Requires estimates of many conditional probabilities, in a likelihood ratio format.
- Bayesian Networks: computational approach in which similar issues have been addressed.
